“We are looking for a school-wide program that addresses: a beautiful environment, pride in our school, studying concepts related to gardening, learning about farm to table, recycling, conservation, and working in the outdoors.” ~Kim Morton
Our students have naturally gravitated to outdoor learning spaces with our 1:1 iPad initiative. They enjoy working in the sunshine and in the garden…but we don’t have sustainable gardens. As personalized learning projects, students have expressed an interest in planting and growing. They have studied sunflowers, varied growing conditions, and shared their work with classmates and online. We have sporadically purchased garden boxes, planted seeds, and conducted various other small projects.
We have a large unused space in our quad that we would love to develop. We also have additional space on our school field. Every classroom has garden space in front of their rooms. ?With your help, we can provide hands-on learning opportunities for the students. ?Our students have expressed interest and said they would love to take their experiences to a much deeper learning level. ?We can come together through donating and volunteering our time. ?Donate today to help Temple Heights students live a healthier future!
