Babcock Elementary Preschool,

We are excited to start! We teach healthy eating habits for better health and realized that some children have not tasted many vegetables. How great would it be for them to plant and harvest what they eat?! – Priscilla, Preschool Teacher

Our Story

The preschool students at Babcock Elementary have little access to fresh fruits and veggies outside of their cooking lessons.

kids in playgroundIn an attempt to install a garden, the school parents built a few box frames around the trees, surrounded by blacktop. The helpful parents donated soil, plants and flower seeds, but this small area only contained a couple beds of stunted, drooping flowers when we went to visit the school. There is so much potential in this sad little area, and the kids are so excited to begin their gardening journey!

Your Help

The children at Babcock enjoy cooking, and have made a variety of foods. From fruit salad?to vegetable soup, they are already working with fruits and vegetables in the kitchen. So let’s encourage their passion and help them cook with veggies from their own garden!

By helping build a garden at Babcock Elementary Preschool, you will be contributing to the continued education of these kids, and inspiring a new generation of conscious eaters!
