Camp Food Fight Camp Leader

Not your average internship.

The Role:

As a Squad Leader you are the primary camp counselor for a group of campers. You’re a mover and a shaker, and eager to learn. You’re inspired to educate and not afraid to get silly. It will be your responsibility to lead your squad of campers in learning about the food world through hands-on experiences, creating a business plan and presentation, leading specialized camp activities, and creating a safe, encouraging place for campers to innovate, discuss, and question. You will learn how to implement camp activities and initiatives. You will assist in the planning and implementation of camp operations. You will bring fresh energy to promote team building. You will gain an overall understanding of how a day camp functions. You may also have the opportunity to learn how to plan, design, and implement one of your own ideas.

Qualifications:

An ideal candidate for this position will be highly energetic, responsible, very personable, adaptable, is a problem solver, and is both flexible and self-motivated. The successful intern will demonstrate a real interest in camp leadership and operations management. You’re prompt, mindful of time, and can lead effectively. You will be passionate about environmental and/or food issues and have experience working with youth (ideally middle school-aged children).

This is a summer internship, based in the coastside of Northern California, near Half Moon Bay (Montara, CA). The internship will be 5 days/week with some evenings or weekends needed. This is a day camp, though overnight sleeping arrangements are available if interested.

Interviews will be held in the Spring and the internship will begin in early June.

Note: This is an unpaid internship. Reward comes in developing skills and helping to become something that’s bigger than yourself. You’re supporting incredible programs that will educate children about how to be a leader in the food world.
