7 Tips to Stay Hydrated
- Start and end your day with water.
- Drink at least 8 glasses of water/day, or try drinking the same amount of ounces as you weigh. So if you weigh 160 lbs. drink 160 ounces of water/day.
- Don’t substitute beverages with caffeine, sugar or alcohol for water. Caffeine and alcohol act as diuretics and can dehydrate you more.
- Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water. Often signs of thirst mean you are already dehydrated.
- Try packing a water in your children’s lunch instead of juice or milk.
